Strategy without AI is like looking backwards in the mirror while driving forward

AI is no longer a "nice to have" — it is a strategic necessity. Reflections from the Oslo Business Forum and the decision to enroll in the master's course Generative AI for Business at BI.

Strategy without AI is like looking backwards in the mirror while driving forward

A few weeks ago I attended the Oslo Business Forum 2025. A consistent theme from the stage was clear: AI is no longer a "nice to have" — it is a strategic necessity. 🤖

🧠 The message I particularly took with me was:
• Strategy must be developed in step with technology, not afterwards.
• The businesses that manage to combine strategic thinking with new technology will be tomorrow's winners.
• AI works not only as a tool, but as a catalyst for innovation and competitiveness.

🎯 I have extensive experience with strategy, strategic management and development. Among other things, I have an Executive Master of Management from BI Norwegian Business School with specialization in strategic management and strategic communication.
At work, responsibility for strategic management, development and business growth and results has been a common thread.
AI, on the other hand, is an area in which I do not have the same background — but which I cannot afford to ignore.

That's why I visited BI's stand at OBF, and last week I had an inspiring conversation with an adviser about how I can build this competence further. The result?
👉 I have signed up for the master's course "Generative AI for Business" starting in February.

Not for the credits. But because I want to explore how AI can be used strategically to drive innovation, open up new business opportunities and strengthen operational efficiency. 📈
And because I sincerely believe that it is never too late to develop professionally — ambition is not just about performing more, but learning more. Those who are able to renew themselves are the strongest in tomorrow's competition. 🚀

📚 The books have already been ordered — now I'm looking forward to learning more and "jump-starting" the study, and to combining strategic experience with new technology.

What about you? Do you see AI as a strategic game-changer in your business where you actively take action — or as something you "take when it comes"? Hang on, then! 💪
