In the photo, King Harald wears bib number 1 on his chest. He was Harald the Fifth. Yet for so many of us he was also one of a kind. As king. As a human being.

Today I feel above all gratitude. ❤️

Thank you for the way you carried the role. With calm, warmth, humour and dignity. Thank you for standing firm when Norway needed to come together, and staying close when people needed care.

You reminded us that real leadership is not only about going first. It is also about showing up, standing behind people and giving them safety, trust and direction.

And perhaps equally important: creating room for difference. King Harald stood up for a Norway with space for different people, different lives and different choices. That is leadership too. To bring people together without making everyone the same.

Perhaps that is why you meant so much to so many.

You had a rare ability to be both king and fellow human. Both unifying and down to earth. Both deeply respected and genuinely liked.

I also think the photo says something fine about your relationship with sport. You did not only sit in the stands and applaud. You knew the value of effort, discipline, community and the joy of taking part yourself.

And only a short time before you passed away, we had another such moment. The national team came home from the World Cup and was celebrated at your home. «All for Norway» was not only your motto. It was also the song that once again brought the country together around football.

For me, «All for Norway» will always be more than words. It was a way of meeting the country and the people in it.

Thank you for everything, dear King Harald.
