Kick off at Munch with AI Value Lab Oslo

At Easter we had a kick off lunch, and we in AI Value Lab Oslo met at 𝘔𝘜𝘕𝘊𝘏.

It really felt like a pretty appropriate place to start.

Munch's universe is about strong emotions, unrest and human reactions. So do many people's encounters with health services. For some, a visit to the dentist can be associated with uncertainty, friction and, in some cases, dental fear. Then it is not so difficult to understand why such experiences are worth learning more about.

In this phase, we spend time exploring how AI can be used in a responsible and thoughtful way in situations where communication, expectations and security matter a lot.

What we are particularly concerned about now is what actually happens in the meeting between people, information and technology. Where does uncertainty arise? What creates security? And where can AI be useful, without compromising privacy, judgment or human proximity?

For us, this is not just about technology. It is also about learning along the way, about building better understanding, developing skills and sharing reflections across disciplines.

Perhaps one of the most interesting things about AI is not the pace or the effect itself, but how the technology can be used more carefully, more precisely and more humanely.

From Munch's time to our own, the tools have changed a lot. The need to understand people remains the same.

Perhaps some of the most interesting AI exploration is precisely this: not to make the human less important, but to better understand what makes an experience safer and more coherent.
