It is fascinating how easy it has become to acquire AI expertise through completely new and modern methods. Google has assembled an impressive learning universe that makes it possible to build solid AI competence, regardless of technical background.

Two platforms stand out in particular:

Google Skills – a complete learning platform with courses, practical lab tasks, progress tracking and certifications you can show directly on LinkedIn.

✅ The Google Cloud YouTube Series – short, educational videos that provide a solid foundation before you get down to the more practical parts.

I have now completed my first course, "Gen AI: Beyond the Chatbot", and am attaching the badge here in the mail. These are clear, academically strong courses - not a "low-level correspondence course", but comprehensive, relevant and practical learning.

The inspiration to explore this came from the sharings of Morten Johnsen which really opened my eyes to the breadth of topics and possibilities in this "AI universe". Thank you very much, Morten!

My recommendation:

These YouTube modules are an effective place to start and gave me a good framework before diving deeper into the Google Skills courses:

🎥 Introduction to Generative AI - part of AI Essentials
🎥 Introduction to Large Language Models – basic module before Vertex AI
🎥 Introduction to Responsible AI - mandatory in all races
🎥 Introduction to AI Agents - explores how intelligent agent systems build and automate actions in complex environments
🎥 Intro to Generative AI training course - clear overview of the learning course
🎥 Introduction to Vertex AI Studio - useful for the practical labs

For my part, this is also the perfect warm-up before I start the Master's program "Generative AI for Business" at BI in February. But first several AI-related courses from the Google Skills universe are due.
